Trouble for TurboTax — just in time for tax season. The Federal Trade Commission has ruled that the popular tax filing software misled customers by advertising "free" services that weren't actually available to them. The commission has now banned TurboTax from advertising free services unless they're free for all users. Intuit, which owns TurboTax, said the FTC's decision was "deeply flawed." Last year, TurboTax was ordered to send checks to more than 4 million people as part of a nationwide settlement over claims it guided low-income customers away from its free filing services.
